Meanwhile was brought in as part of an initiative by the Granville Island Trust and Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) to reimagine some of these underused spaces on the island into vibrant public gathering spots on Granville Island.

Meanwhile was proud to partner with CMHC to bring new life to Chain & Forge with a suite of urban interventions designed to spark play and participation. With City Pong and an Urban Heart, the plaza stop passers by and pulls them in for a moment of play. Chain & Forge is designed for cultural programming, including concerts, markets, art installations, and community events. It’s meant to act as a bridge between the artistic legacy of Granville Island and its future as a more publicly engaging, inclusive place.
